Incinerator decision welcomed

LISBURN Councillor Pat Catney has welcomed Minister Alex Attwood’s decision to refuse planning permission to the Rose Energy incinerator in Glenavy.

Councillor Catney said the decision was the right one.

“Over seven thousand objections were registered against this application and I fully welcome Environment Minister Alex Attwood’s decision to refuse planning permission for this incinerator,” said Mr Catney.

“I believe that it’s the best decision and I want to praise all of the work done by CALNI Chairperson Ray Clarke and their supporters for all their hard work over the last five years.

“The entire community can now look forward with moving on without this shadow hanging over them.”
