FOLLOWING the recent successful Abracadabra! ceramic exhibition by resident artist Andrea Alderdice-McCullough at the Island Arts Centre, she visited local school boy Dillon Duff (P5 Oakwood Integrated Primary School) to share the good news that he had won the competition that had run alongside the exhibition.

Abracadabra was inspired by Korky Paul’s illustration in the Winnie the Witch books for children, and to mark their 25th anniversary, Andrea worked with over 200 children from eight Lisburn primary schools, to create the original exhibition.

Andrea showcased her own creations alongside work by local schools and 24 budding artists who created fun ceramic pieces that had all ages spell-bound. The character Dillon designed was replicated in clay for him to keep.
