Saintfield artist exhibits in Vancouver

SAINTFIELD wildlife artist, Lorna Hamilton has been chosen for this year’s Master Artists Exhibition in Vancouver.

Her painting, ‘First Arrival’ was selected for the highly respected exhibition from hundreds of entries. Lorna is the only Irish artist represented amongst an array of nationalities from around the world.

The exhibition, which is being held in Grouse Mountain Resort, Vancouver, is part of a ten day event featuring children’s workshops and natural history lectures run by Artists for Conservation Foundation. Lorna has been involved with this organisation since 2008 when her painting was featured on the front cover of their show book. Since then Lorna has gone on to have two very successful solo exhibitions and has a number of paintings represented in prestigious collections in America.

Vancouver may be a little far to travel to see Lorna’s work however she will be exhibiting a little closer to home. On November 8, Lorna will be displaying her new range of paintings in the RDS, Dublin. The arts fair entitled ‘Arts Source’ will open with a special preview night on Thursday, November 8, and will continue until Sunday, November 11.

“I am excited to be exhibiting in Dublin for the first time in my career,” she said. “I have a number of new paintings for the show, it has been a busy time but I am really pleased with my new works. I hope people travel down to the exhibition, it promises to be an interesting event.”
