Drumbeg WI inspired

THE speaker at Drumbeg WI meeting for October was Sophie McGovern from the Apex Clinic in Belfast.

Sophie is a chartered manipulative physiotherapist and practices as part of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare specialists. At the clinic they specialize in working with spinal problems, sports injuries, joint problems and drug free treatment for headaches.

Sophie encouraged the ladies to keep their bodies as supple as possible to delay the onset of pains and aches.

Walking and swimming regularly, maintaining correct posture and adapting a good sitting position are all positive contributory factors to well being.

The competition for a flower arrangement in a beaker was won by Clara Crookshanks with Barbara Huss and Maureen Lindsay taking second and third places. The ballot was won by Olive Palmer. Members observed a minute silence in memory of Mary Abbott. Mary was a founder and much respected member who died recently.
