United boys in club contention and enjoy selection for National Group
Both will now receive the benefits of the best coaching in the National set up as they develop their games in the elite surroundings and alongside the other very best young players in the province. As the only locally based 2003 players in the set up, all at the Academy are proud of the efforts of the two boys, members of the successful u13 group at the Showgrounds. A thriiling draw for the Lisburn League under 13’s and 4 wins from 4 for the under 16’s completed the weekend fixtures.

Lisburn Distillery U13 2 BUYA U13 2: It was Distillery who managed to get the opening goal of the game just minutes before the half time break. Ballymena were up for it straight from the second half kick off, looking positive with every forward play they made, but they just couldn’t get the better of the Distillery defence. Dylan Robinson was on hand to calmly slot the ball past him on the rebound. A well deserved equaliser. A lapse in concentration allowed Distillery to once again take the lead. determined not to give up. Ballymena’s hard work and relentless pressure caused a distillery player to slip up and land a mistimed tackle awarding the Skyblues another free kick. The United centre back Dean Millar fancied his chances with this one and stepped up to take it. With a thunderous strike on goal, the ball flew over the keeper hitting the top corner of the net.

Hide AdBUYA U14 0 Crusaders U14 5: A defensive error allowed the Crues a gift of a chance which they took, 0-1. Ballymena responded with another great effort from a free kick, but again from this a defensive misunderstanding and the Crues went 2 up.
Crusaders made it 0-4 with some neat football, The final goal was a really good strike by Crusaders but Ballymena failed to move out quickly from a free kick and the strikers hammered the ball home. MOM Pat Shivers
BUYA U15 1 Magherafelt Sky Blues U15 3: A penalty and a defected shot did not help United although they recovered with a good Stephen McColgan effort.New signing Padraig Slane made an impressive debut showing his quality throughout,Josh Galloway another that caught the eye.
