Ballymena did well in the first half but their makeshift side were no match for a well organised team like Academy. They actually did well to hold them in the early stages and to turn round at the interval only 15 points behind was an achievement indeed. In the second half Ballymena were first out of the blocks and pulled back a try through Gerard Bowes but then the steam ran out of a brave Ballymena side and Academy strolled to an easy victory adding another 14 points.
