With only six games remaining in the Larne Pool League, it looks like it’s Thatch’s title to lose after they maintained their three-point lead with a comeback 9-6 win over the Station Bar.

With Bryan McWhirter’s men 3-0 down, the champions rallied to earn the all-important two points.

The shock result of the week saw the No. 1 Reds win 9-6 over Ibrox; Tam Hagan won the last frame to secure the win with the hosts also helped by a Glyn Williams hat-trick.

The Saints may have been 4-2 down at Ruby’s but an impressive nine-in-a-row saw them come through 11-4.

Recently-crowned 2015 doubles champions, Shaun McAlister and Dean McDonagh, pocketed hat-tricks as did the ever-consistent Anthony McCorry.

Elsewhere, the Gers inflicted more misery on the Feathers with an 11-4 win. Stuart Houston, Lee Hogg and Mark Wilson racked up trebles, while their stablemates BSQ Rangers made a big effort of it at St Comgall’s with only four players but fell short, losing 9-6. Paul Smyth got his first hat-trick forthe Saints, while Glenn Ogilby also landed a treble for the visitors.

Last, but not least, Q Club had Andrew Lilly to thank for winning his three frames including the play-off to secure a 9-7 win over the Thatch Rockets.
