South Antrim Ladies go top after a great start in league

South Antrim Ladies Firsts started their season last Saturday with a display of talent that shows they are well prepared for this year.

The extra training sessions have proved their worth as the ladies took 3 points confidently from PSNI at Stormont.

Vicky Donaldson (Player of the Match) and Charis Rodgers carried the ball around the PSNI defenders winning many corners for their team, however, the opening goal came from a reverse lob taken by Alex Dugan which rocked the opposition.

The South ladies proved unstoppable in the second half as any loose balls were quickly intercepted by the South defenders and sent immediately back towards the attacking circle.

Again, PSNI found themselves struggling as two more goals were added by Vicky Donaldson and Amy Patton.

Vicky’s quick thinking also led to a fourth goal when she strategically sent the ball to an awaiting Jo Clarke, who scored from the left post.

Netting 3 points and 4 goals in their favour has sent the ladies to the top of Senior 4.
