Olympian McIlroy runs personal best time in Berlin
Former Olympian James McIlroy shaved eight minutes off his personal best time at Sunday’s Berlin Marathon.
McIlroy, representing Larne Athletic Club, finished 97th out of 40,000 runners, clocking 2:33:27 for the course.
Club-mate Heather Baxter ran a superb time of 3:49.32, showing she is a very consistent sub-3:50 marathon runner who will, no doubt, be in training again come 2015.
