Michael selected for NI Junior team
IN the same week that saw Alex Higgins pass away one local lad was hoping to follow in his hero's footsteps.
Michael Loughlin from Edenderry Park in Banbridge met Alex Higgins when he was just four years old, inspiring him to take up the sport.
He got his first cue from his parents as a Christmas present and ever since then he has been wanting to play at the highest level.

Hide AdNow aged 13, and attending St Patrick's College, Michael has qualified for to represent Northern Ireland's Junior snooker team after finishing third in the team's qualifiers.
Michael will now be heading off to Wales to compete on September 10.
He is a member of the Premier Snooker Club in Glengormley.
