Dermot makes ‘cut’ in NI Open
The Ballymena player followed up his opening round of four-under par with a two over par round of 73 on the second day at Galgorm Castle.
McElroy made a slow start, bogeying three of the opening four holes.

Hide AdHowever, he got his round back on track and had got back to level par for the round before a double bogey at 15 and a bogey at 16.
But he finished his round with a birdie to ensure he comfortably made the cut with five shots to spare.
Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren still leads the tournament but after his course record round the previous day, he had to settle for a round of level par on day two, enabling the field to close the gap.
