Portstewart, Moyola, Tobermore and a number of other junior teams usually contest the Cup competition.

Speaking to Times Sport, Billy Smallwoods from the North West FA apologised: “Our problem this year was finding time to get all the fixtures played. We just didn’t have enough free Saturdays. Discussions are already taking place about next year’s competition, and we are hopeful that we will be back to the eight team format again.” He added that the competition was a ‘flood lit Cup’ and that had been problematic for the organising Committee.
