Carniny U-14s weather storm to reach last eight in NIBFA Cup
Wisely the North West and Coleraine district Youth League called off all their fixtures leaving the Under 9s, 10s and 11s all without games.
In the National League and NIBFA Cup both the 16s and 13s were also called off.

The Carniny ‘All Blacks’ booked themselves a place in the Northern Ireland Boys FA Cup Quarter Finals with a 2-1 win over St Andrews with a skillful goal from Seaan Elliott and a wonder strike from Ronnie Marshall.
The Under 12s were not so lucky, taking a depleted squad on the long trip to Ballinamallard and losing to strong opponents.
The football Development Centre continued out at the indoor 3G Sportshut facility.

UNDER-12
Carniny Youth 1, Ballinamallard Youth 5: Carniny were looking to add to their good form of 4 straight wins but they came up against a very strong Ballinamallard side.
The long trip down had an effect on the wee reds and they found in most cases in the first half they were out muscled.
Carniny did have chances from Mearns and Graffin but failed to convert to goals.

Hide AdAfter 15 minutes Ballinamallard scored their first when the striker scored with a glancing header.
Another three soft goals followed to make it 4-0 at half time. Carniny didn’t play that badly in the first half but had nothing to show for their efforts.
The second half Carniny showed much more fight with Anderson and Hamilton starting to win more tackles in midfield. Things also improved in wide positions from White and Moore.
It was Jake White that gave Carniny hope when he cut inside from the right and squeezed the ball into the bottom corner to make it 4-1.

Hide AdCarniny then started to pile the pressure on Ballinamallard for the next 15 minutes with Mearns and Graffin raising their game.
The back four of Young, Farquhar, Robinson and Lamont were also doing better the second half until Ballinamallard hit Carniny on the break to make it 5-1 and effectively killed the game.
With a depleted squad and having only 11 players available it was just too much to ask from the players.
Carniny now look forward to entertaining Glentoran at Ballykeel on Saturday and hope to get back to winning ways.

UNDER-14
Carniny Youth 2, St Andrews 1: Carniny put in a strong performance against a physical St Andrews.
The Ballymena boys fell behind on 20 minutes after Shea O’Brien stopped a shot only for the ball to spin loose and a St Andrews player poked the ball home from close range and injuring the Carniny keeper in the process.
Cory Little took over from O’Brien and kept Carniny in the game with several good stops.

Hide AdCarniny drew level in the 38th minute with a superb finish from Seaan Elliott who was torturing the St Andrews defence. Carniny deserved to be at least level at the interval.
Carniny took charge in the second half in the midfield and again Seaan Elliott was causing the St Andrews defence problems and had to be substituted early in the second half after being caught badly on the right knee.
Just after the hour mark Carniny took the lead through Ronnie Marshall who drove into space and struck a unstoppable shot above the St Andrews keeper.
Carniny continued to dominate the midfield and Seaan Elliott had a fantastic opportunity to extend Carniny’s lead only to lift the ball just over the bar.

Hide AdA fantastic team performance from the Carniny boys but a special mention must go to Corry Little who filled in brilliantly for O’Brien in nets. Final score Carniny 2 St Andrews 1, with Carniny booking themselves a quarter final slot against Limavady Youth.
