There's a new management team in Paul Mathers and Jonny McFerran as Amateur League Barn United begin life in 1B after being relegated last season.

McFerran told the Times: “We’re trying to get some younger players in to freshen things up after those relegation battles of the last few seasons.

MORE: Haslett Park hosts a perfect match for Lesley and Gary“The players have shown loyalty to the club and maybe they feel they have something to prove. We’ve had the losing mentality for too long - and Division 1B could be a bit tasty this year, with so many local derbies.”

First up is the visit of Billy Youle’s rejuvenated UUJ on Saturday (2pm).
