Dunbarton bowlers lose out for PG team
Despite a great start, it was a disappointing weekend for Conor McCartan, Myles Greenfield, Andy Hughes and DJ Wilson.
On the Friday night, the Private Greens took on the Bowling League of Ireland and four of the five PG rinks finished victorious.

Hide AdConor played third to Brendan Thompson and chalked up a fantastic eight shot success, whilst Myles Greenfield playing third to James Talbot won by 10 shots.
Team-mates Andy Hughes and DJ Wilson teamed up at third and skip and they won by four shots and overall the PG team had won by 28 shots.
Next up for the PG team on Saturday morning was a game against the hosts NIBA at Whitehead.
Unfortunately, the visitors started badly and never recovered. Conor was gutted to lose a last end double and a two shot defeat, while Andy and DJ fought back from 3-16 to lose by just three.

Hide AdMyles and his rink had a morning to forget as they ran into Commonwealth Games representative M McHugh on his own green and they fell to a very heavy 20 shot defeat. Overall, the team lost 37 shots.
On Saturday afternoon, it was back to Carrick to play the Provincial Towns and this game went right to the wire, only for the PGL to lose by a solitary shot. This time Conor lost by three, Myles by four and unfortunately Andy and DJ had a disappointing afternoon to lose by 13.
Dunbarton bowlers Peter Convery and Marty Trainor were both unused substitutes.
