Carrick Ladies get back to winning ways
The local side lost by a solitary strike against their County Tyrone opponents at a wet and windy Amphitheatre on Saturday afternoon.
The result leaves Greenisland bottom of Ulster Hockey’s Senior Two - a point behind Kilkeel Ladies. And they won’t have an easy task this weekend as the entertain promotion-chasing Grosvenor.

Hide AdCarrick Ladies, meanwhile are up to eighth spot in Senior Two after Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Dromore Ladies. Dara Curry netted twice against the mid-table side, while Christine Waide and Chloe Mitchell also found the net.
It was only their third win of their league campaign, but could be the catalyst for an upturn in form.
This weekend they’re at home to Priorians who sit one place above them in the standings, thanks to a superior goal difference.
In the Irish Senior Cup quarter-final, Kirstie Lammey’s Ulster Elks exited the competition after a one-goal defeat to Lurgan Ladies.

Hide AdDownshire School’s Under-18 team beat Cambridge House 6-0 in the McDowell Plate competition last week and progress to the next round to play either Ballyclare High School or Wallace High School. The goal scorers were: Amy Wilson, Nicole Winters (two), Becca Anderson (three).
Downshire’s Under-14 team beat Royal and Prior School 4-2 after extra-time and penalty strokes. The girls now progress to the second round against Dalriada.
