WELB haslowest levelof reservesof any board in NI: O’Dowd
The Western Education and Library Board (WELB) had the lowest level of reserves of any educational authority in Northern Ireland at the end of March, according to the Education Minister John O’Dowd.
Outlining the level of reserves of each board he revealed WELB’s stood at £109,783,000.
The figures elsewhere were as follows: BELB (£132k); SELB (£162k); NEELB (£304k); SEELB (£255k).

Hide AdThe Minister stated: “Reserves represent the total assets less liabilities of the arm’s length body, and do not represent spending power.
“The Education and Library Boards have significant reserves due to the value of land and buildings held.”
