Video: Organisers discuss the Giro d’Italia
The world’s media, along with tens of thousands of foreign tourists, will attend the three-day stage of the race in Northern Ireland on May 9 to 11.
On Tuesday, it was announced that election posters will be banned from the route of the race - which will include parts of Belfast, Co Antrim, and Co Armagh - in a bid to improve the presentation of the race route.

Hide AdHowever, the route is still expected to take riders past murals such as the newly-painted UVF gunmen on the Lower Newtownards Road.
Despite the difficulties involved in planning the sporting event, it has been hailed as being a massive boon to Northern Ireland, bigger still than last year’s World Police and Fire Games.
