Magherafelt District Council has been supportive of the venture and have allocated £10,000 towards the enterprise at Queen Street.
The old cinema building had been vacant for some years until work got started on the ‘social hub’ project late last year.
Its main aim is to address the issues of disadvantage and disability, and the problems of ill health within south Derry’s ageing population.
