Trauma Teddies aid Antrim and Newtownabbey PSNI's work with young children
And according to police the lovingly crafted cuddly bears are already proving useful in a range of situations involving young people.
A PSNI Newtownabbey spokesperson said: “The teddies have been out in our patrol cars for a few weeks now and I am delighted to report back to the crafting group and to you that they have been a great comfort to young children who have been involved in traumatic experiences.

Hide Ad“Road traffic collisions, domestic abuse, missing Kids and children witnessing an upsetting incident are some examples of when the teddies can be put to use.
“Super Ted really helped to lift one young toddlers spirits at a recent violent domestic.”
Police went on to pay tribute to the craftswoman for their support
“A big thank you to the ladies who voluntarily spend their time and money making these fantastic little bears. We will continue to try and give them a well needed home.”
