Traffic flow to double on A5 by 2030

The Minister for Regional Development outlined the Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) flow in 2007 and an estimate of the AADT for 2015 and 2030 for the A5 as taken from the Environmental Statement for the road.

“With the exception of the Aughnacloy to Ballygawley section, traffic flows on the A5 fall into this category. However, it is recognised that there are safety benefits in providing a consistent standard of road along the entire length of a route.”
