Speeding cars putting lives at risk at Clough - claim
That was the claim made to councillors at their latest committee meeting in The Braid on Thursday night by Alderman Robin Cherry who highlighted the need for a change in the current speed limit.
Ald. Cherry said he had received a number of complaints from concerned members of the public about the speed of vehicles on the Clough Road to Cushendall Road.

The Alderman told the meeting that on one occasion a car was travelling so fast along the road that the trailer attached to it broke off and ended up in a private garden.
“If a child had been in the garden, it would have been killed,” he stated.
Councillors went on to support his proposal that a letter be sent to the appropriate authorities calling for action to be taken.
“We are not looking for a new road or anything just a post with a new sign on it,” said Ald. Cherry.
