Rotary Club makes cheque presentations
Mary McClean from Banbridge Action Cancer and Laura Summerbell from the Alzheimer’s Society each received a cheque for £500 from Club President Gerry McElvogue.
Gerry said how privileged he felt to have the Club support the organisations.

Hide Ad“We have organised a couple of fundraising events during the year with a recent booksale being particularly successful,” he said, “and we are very grateful for the support we receive from local people.
“ Without their backing and generosity, this would not be possible.”
Mary McClean said: “This cheque is much appreciated. Action Cancer’s objective is to save lives and to support local people through cancer awareness, prevention, detection and support.
“We also run awareness courses to highlight the signs and symptoms of the most common cancers and highlight factors which may increase the chances of developing a cancer.”

Hide AdAn equally appreciative Laura Summerbell said: “The Alzheimer’s Society offers a wide range of support services to people affected by dementia.
“We recognise that there is a very great need to offer support to their families and friends and the Banbridge Rotary Club’s donation is greatly valued.”
