Poppy Appeal launched
David Davis, Chairman of Group 6 of the RBL, which takes in Londonderry, Limavady and Strabane, who is also chairman of the Londonderry branch, stressed that the Poppy Appeal benefited ex-service personnel in the city who had made the supreme sacrifice in the two world wars as well as in recent conflict.
“The Royal British Legion has a wide remit and is involved in rehabilitation and reintegration by helping those who have suffered through injury by providing retraining for anyone with injuries, while families get respite care and professional assistance,” he said.

“The RBL is one of the largest caring organisations in the world, and we are appealing again for all the residents of the city to show support for the ongoing work we do for those who have suffered and continue to experience difficulty. We are appealing to people to wear their poppy with pride and help the RBL to help those who have served and made the sacrifice by purchasing a poppy,” Mr Davis said.
Remembrance Sunday will take place on November 14 this year.
