Gamblestown speed move welcomed
The move was this week welcomed by Upper Bann MP David Simpson, who praised DUP colleagues locally for pursuing the matter on residents’ behalf.
“The initial concerns of the residents were raised with DUP representatives in the area,” he said. “Following an assessment by Roads Service there will be a reduced speed limit of 40mph on the main Lurgan to Dromore Road, with a 30mph limit being placed in Gamblestown Park.

“I want to put on record my praise for the local DUP representatives who have dealt with this case and ensured that the Roads Service, PSNI and Craigavon Borough Council were all able to agree on this vital issue.”
Dromore Councillor Paul Rankin said the Gamblestown speed issue had been raised with Lagan Valley MLA Brenda Hale’s office, among others, and the Roads Service decision was a welcome outcome.
