Divine Service of Remembrance at Christchurch Carrickfergus

Pastor Sam Grant, who has been the chaplain for the UDR and the RBL in Carrickfergus, was presented with a commemoration medal by Stephen Weir, chairman of the Ulster Defence Regiment CGC Association, for his continuous long service.

Hide AdMr Weir also told the congregation about the new Ulster Defence Regiment Memorial that has been purchased by the people of Carrickfergus and their friends from around the world. It will replace the old cairn in the Garden of Remembrance at a later date as the stone has only arrived into the country, he explained.
The president of the Ulster Defence Regiment CGC Association, Margaret Howes and treasurer, Joan Button read the Roll of Honour followed by RBL President, George Horner who relayed the significance of the poppy.
