Secretly recorded footage in a Belfast accountancy firm helps convict 27 people in one of NI’s biggest ever tax fraud cases.

The ringleaders of the gang which triggered Northern Ireland’s biggest ever tax probe have been jailed mainly due to secretly recorded conversations in a bugged accountant’s office.

The decade-long investigation into the £5 million tax fraud ended yesterday (13 June) with prison sentences issued to gang leaders Belfast men 58-year-old Francis Devlin and 56-year-old Paul McStravick for a combined total of eight years.
