Brave bereaved mother Carol Stewart from Newbuildings, County Londonderry, has donated a substantial £3,000 to Ward 43, the cancer care ward at Altnagelvin Hospital, in memory of her late son who sadly died from cancer earlier this year.
The Newbuildings woman courageously shaved her head to raise money in memory of her son, John Stewart, who had received treatment in Ward 43.

Girls Brigade

Clooney Hall Girls Brigade will hold an Open Night on Thursday, September 4, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

All aspiring GB girls, aged three to 17 will be welcome to attend for an evening of crafts, games, baking, a chocolate fountain and bouncy castle.

Indoor car boot sale

An indoor car boot sale will take place at Clooney Hall on October 4, from 10am to 12.30pm.

Sellers who wish to book a table are asked to telephone 02871 348 531. Spaces are £5 and space is limited. Stalls will be ‘sold’ on a first come first served basis.

Workshops

Ceramic artist Gail Mahon will be inspiring budding young crafters at a clay sculpture workshop on Monday, August 25, from 1pm to 4pm, as part of the Legenderry August Craft Month.

It is part of the ‘Make My Monday’ workshops organised as part of the City Council’s Craft Development Programme, which is part funded by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.

‘Improvise to Impress’ is aimed at those aged 11 to 16 and will take place in the Thatched Cottage in the Craft Village.
