The Waterside roundabout is often beset with speeding issues or access delays. It is becoming one of the city’s accident black spots and studies show the route is utilised by some 50,000 vehicles daily.
Mr Diver asked the Minister during Tuesday’s question time at the NI Assembly: “For an update on plans to increase traffic controls at the Caw roundabout in Derry?”

Hide AdMs McIlveen replied: “My department is currently conducting a survey on collision history at the location,” she told the NI Assembly.
“It requires detailed assessment and the Department hopes to install remedial safety measures in the next few months.
“Work is on-going and it would be prudent to wait for the assessment to be completed.”
