Clare Chorale in fine voice at annual concert
Under the baton of Ballynure’s Sheelagh Greer, the Ballyclare-based 40-strong mixed voice choir provided a range of music which delighted the large crowd.
Tears were shed at the beautiful rendition of the choir’s unofficial anthem ‘Caledonia’, while hairs were raised by the stirring climax of ‘The Impossible Dream’.

Hide AdThe Quicksilver Flute Ensemble, led by Richard Douglas, showed why it has such a busy schedule, with its harmonious and highly technical music repertoire.
Dr Michelle Rainey, principal of Ballyclare High School, was one of the chief guests at the choir’s 13th annual concert. She was delighted that The Jake Holmes Trio, a youthful jazz group, was on stage to represent the musical talent from the Rashee Road school, also giving greater diversity to the rich musical programme.
Choir chairman Alan Strong and Mayor Thomas Hogg were both delighted by the outstanding performances of the choir and the other talented musical acts.
