Carrick funds for pregnancy support service
Doula Trust NI (formerly Doula-Vision NI) was established in 2010 with the aim of providing a free support service for those who couldn’t otherwise afford one. ‘Doula’ refers to an experienced person who offers support to a family. They do not replace midwives, and are not usually medically trained.
Elaine Bull, chairperson Doula Trust NI, said: “Women don’t always get the chance to enjoy and feel ready for their baby’s arrival,”

Carrick Chiropractic has recognised the important work of the organisation and has been raising vital funds.
Graeme Ritchie, chiropractor, said: “At our practice we are proud to be able to help women during pregnancy, preparing for labour and following the birth of their baby. It seemed only right therefore that we give back to others in the field.”
The Trust, which offers a free and subsidised doula service, said it was grateful for the support of businesses.

I felt so happy, and I’m still able to contact my doula two years later for support when I need to which is great. It’s like having my own wee security blanket.”
