Roadshow finds 48 at risk of Type 2 diabetes
Almost half of the people who attended a one-day Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow in Ballymena last week were found to be at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, it has been revealed.
Of the 103 individuals seen on Tuesday at the Diabetes UK and BUPA Roadshow 48 people (46%) were referred to their doctor for further tests and support because of their likelihood of developing the condition, the organisers have revealed.
Getting diagnosed early, or being recognised as high or moderate risk, means that people have the opportunity to make healthy lifestyle choices which can help them avoid serious health problems, according to the charity.
