Local men to run 10 Marathons in 10 Days for Cancer Focus
Peter (57) and Harold (33) are clocking up their marathon miles by running run up and down Stormont’s iconic hill from the main front gates to Lord Edward Carson’s statue 16 times every day. Having started on August 15 the men are due to complete their gruelling challenge on August 24.
Peter Ferris said: “Every morning we’ll start at 8am, so factoring in between 4.5 and 6 hours to complete one marathon, we should finish around lunch time every day.

Whether it’s for one leg, one lap, a half marathon or a full one – it would be great to have some company and motivation as the challenge goes on.”
Joyce Savage, Head of Appeals and Marketing at Cancer Focus said, “These men are setting themselves an amazing task that will challenge them both mentally and physically, all in aid of their local cancer charity. The money raised from this event will help to support people living with a cancer diagnosis in our local communities so we’re asking the public to come out in force and show their support.”
Peter has completed 417 marathons including some in extreme conditions such as The South Pole. He has raised over £500,000 for charity for which he received the MBE. Harold also has an impressive record having run 180 marathons to date.
