Mulholland concerns over sporting clubs and societies waste collection charge
The Loughgiel Councillor raised his concerns during discussions on the cost of waste collection charges for non domestic ratepayers at a recent Council Committee meeting.
Councillor Mulholland said: “The charges for waste collection can be another burden to the already tightening purse strings of Sporting Clubs and Societies.

In the previous Coleraine and Limavady Councils, Clubs and Societies were also exempt from this charge.
“Most sporting clubs have very little by way of income and have lots of financial outgoings. They provide an invaluable service to our communities and I think Council should be looking at ways to help them. Free waste collection would be a good start in my opinion.”
